Congratulations are in order!

It has been a season of exciting honors for our Board and leadership team! We are so pleased to start this week by celebrating our Board and senior team members who have been honored recently.

President & CEO, Kimberly Watson, and Board Member, Damyn Kelly, were both recently honored by City & State New York as part of the 2023 NONPROFIT POWER 100 LIST! This recognizes “the most notable nonprofit leaders who are strengthening the safety net in New York state and puts a spotlight on the leaders of social services providers, legal aid organizations, advocacy organizations, and foundations.”

Board Co-Chair, Richard Rothman, recently received the NEW YORK LAW JOURNAL’S LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD! The legal awards honor those attorneys and judges who have made a remarkable difference in the legal profession in New York. This award was for Rich’s “groundbreaking career including wins across the country in trials, arbitrations, and investigations dealing with some of the seminal business topics of the last 40 years – from airline takeover battles to the World Trade Center bombing and the fall of Lehman Brothers, to name a few.”

We were thrilled to see Graham’s Senior Director of Community Leadership Development, Dr. Emily Lopez, honored on October 26th in a ceremony at El Museo Del Barrio by the Comite Noviembre. As part of the 2023 Puerto Rican Heritage Month celebrations, Dr. Lopez received the LO MEJOR DE NUESTRA COMUNIDAD (The Best of Our Community) award “for outstanding individuals who are the unsung heroes of our community.” Comite Noviembre is a nonprofit that commemorates and pays tribute to the contributions Puerto Ricans have made to this nation.

Board Member, Joan Haffenreffer, was an honoree for Philanthropic Leadership Distinction at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum Benefit Dinner, which was held on September 7th. See THIS ARTICLE on the website of the Women’s Forum, where Joan is the immediate past president. A group of us were thrilled to cheer for her as Michael Bloomberg presented her with the award! She is pictured here with members of Graham’s Manhattanville Cornerstone dance team.

Our Executive Team received a TOP 50 AWARD from OnCon Icon Awards, which recognizes top executive teams! Our LEARNING AND PRACTICE PROFICIENCY and HR TEAMS also won OnCon Top 100 awards. We were honored to be in the company of nonprofit and corporate peers we admire.

What a group! We are Graham-proud to count these leaders as ours. Congratulations to all!
