Subject: ** WINTER STORM ALERT **

Hello Graham Staff,

As you are most probably aware by now, the National Weather Bureau has forecast a Winter Storm for the mid-Atlantic/ New England region that will begin late tonight and continue until Thursday evening. It is predicted that the storm will begin with rain and progress to sleet and snow, as the temperature drops. Most of the snow is slated to fall between 3:00 AM and 2:00 PM tomorrow, but will continue until early evening. It is predicted that somewhere between 3” and 10” of snow will fall, depending on location.

In anticipation of this storm, we want to share the following coverage and communication plan so that you will be kept abreast of Graham’s openings and any modifications to service hours in our sites. Please be aware that we will provide updates to this information on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/GrahamEmployeeAlerts/) and our website (http://www.graham-windham.org/news-and-events/staffupdates/), as well as send out a mass email by 7:00 AM tomorrow apprising of updates and any new information.

Here are the current plans:

Westchester Campus:

Given the 24/7 nature of the care we provide for our youth living there, the Campus will be open. Cottage, Food Service, Medical and Maintenance staff should consult with their Supervisor/Manager/ Director concerning scheduling and coverage if there are particular questions or concerns.

Manhattanville Cornerstone, Harlem & Hunts Point Beacons, Community School Program, Beacon TIES, General Preventive:

We are awaiting details from the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) for further instructions concerning the opening of After-School centers during the storm. However, typically, if the NYC public schools are closed, the centers will be closed, as well. Staff should look for the email/social media updates in the morning and reach out to their program’s Director if they have specific concerns or questions.

Program Management, Graham SLAM and Preventive staff who typically work in these sites can work out of MMHC or Webster Ave sites if the schools are closed. Currently, we expect that MMHC and Webster will be open for the regular working hours but we are delaying the opening of the office until 10:00 AM.

Webster Avenue, Atlantic Avenue, 423 W. 127th Street, MMHC

Currently, we expect that these offices will be open for the regular working hours however, we are delaying the opening of our offices until 10:00 AM. Staff that are unable to report to their assigned office site due to travel hardship or need for a modified schedule due to child care, for example, may be able to use the “flex-option” and work from home. In this case, the staff member must have a discussion with their Supervisor/Director prior to using the option.

127 W. 127th Street
We have been informed by the management of the Dempsey Center that the building will be open during the storm. However, Graham is delaying the opening of its office until 10:00 AM to allow for travel. Staff that are unable to make it to the office site due to travel hardship or need for a modified schedule due to child care, for example, may be able to use the “flex-option” and work from home. In this case, the staff member must have a discussion with their Supervisor/Director prior to using the option. Staff should look for the email/social media updates in the morning and reach out to their program’s Director if they have specific concerns or questions.

One Pierrepont Plaza

We have been informed by the management of the One Pierrepont Plaza, that the building will be open for the regular working hours.

Thank you for your attention to and cooperation with this important matter,

Kym
